LOCATION AND DATES

The 22nd International Conference on Thermoelectrics will be held at the Convention Centre in La Grande Motte (Montpellier, France) from Sunday 17 to Thursday 21 August 2003.

THE REGISTRATION DESK will be open on Sunday 17 August, from 16:00 to 19:00 and during the entire Conference.

OFFICIAL LANGUAGE

The official language of the Conference is English.

The Conference Proceedings will be published by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (I.E.E.E.).

The Gala Dinner will take place on Wednesday 20 August. A surprise entertainment will make it attractive (there will be bus transfers).

Each participant is responsible for obtaining a passport and a visa when applicable. Please check with your local French Embassy or Consulate what documents are required, at least three months before the Conference.

For the participants coming from the EEC member countries, a national identity card is sufficient.

Upon request to CSI Congrès, the Organising Committee will send an invitation letter to the delegates who need help with necessary procedures for attendance (in order to obtain a visa).

No financial commitment is implied in an invitation letter.

La Grande Motte is a seaside resort and considering the summer season (high season), hotels require upon booking (at the latest on May 15, 2003) :

- the full payment of the stay, for a one or two nights stay,
- the payment of 50% of the total amount of the stay, for a stay superior to two nights.

The rates include : room, breakfast (continental or buffet) and tourist tax (per day/per person). All extra charges remain at the participant’s cost.

IMPORTANT :

Accommodation requests will be handled on a first come, first served basis. Attribution will be made according to availability in the chosen category. If not, the closest category will be attributed.

Options are available only until June 15, 2003. Past this date, we cannot guarantee the booking of rooms.

Any modification of the dates of your stay must be made before June 15 in writing to CSI Congrès and not to the Hotel.

A confirmation of accommodation (accommodation voucher) including the hotel contact details and the amount paid will be sent to each concerned participant from June 30, 2003.

If you wish to share a twin bed room with another delegate, please write his name on the registration form in the corresponding space and send a sole booking and a sole payment for this room.

The payments of the registration fees and accommodation reservations must be made in €uros by :

The registration form is available in the Downloads section of this website. Please print it, fill it out and send it by postal mail, along with the payment or by fax, if you pay by credit card.

. Registration sent by fax will only be accepted if the payment is made by credit card.

. Registration requests by phone will not be accepted.

. Only the registrations sent along with appropriate payment or photocopy of the bank transfer will be taken into consideration. Registration will become definitive upon receipt of the credit advice from the bank.

Upon receipt of the credit advice, a registration voucher will be sent to each registered participant. This voucher will be claimed at the on-site Registration Desk and will be exchanged for the Conference Documents.

Any cancellation must be made in writing by postal mail to CSI Congrès (letter including your bank references and full address).

Any cancellation received before June 30, 2003 will entitle to the refund of the Registration Fees paid after deduction of 55€ for administrative charges. No refund will be granted after this date.

Any cancellation received at CSI before June 30, 2003 will entitle to the refund of the Registration Fees after deduction of 10 € for administrative charges. No refund will be granted after this date.

Any cancellation received at CSI Congrès before June 30, 2003 will entitle to a refund according to the hotel legislation. After this date, no refund will be granted unless the Organizing Committee succeeds in renting the room to another participant.

La Grande Motte is a seaside resort which enjoys a warm and sunny climate. In August, the average temperature is 25 to 30° C.

At this time of the year, the official time in France is Greenwich Standard Time +2 hours.

La Grande Motte is a very busy city in summer. We advise you not to tempt the thieves and pickpockets.

The currency is euro (€). Many banks are located close to the Convention Centre and are open from Monday to Friday (opening hours : 8:30 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 16:30).

The Organizing Committee is not responsible for illness or accidents which could occur during the Conference. We recommend you to check if your health insurance covers any incident happening abroad.

Distance between Montpellier (SNCF) Railway station and La Grande Motte : 23 km.

On Sunday 17 August 2003, a bus for the Conference will stand in front of the Montpellier (SNCF) Railway Station around 20:00 and will go through the Airport (around 20:30) to drive you to La Grande Motte. Please tick the corresponding box in the Registration Form.

The precise timetable will be indicated in the registration voucher. Apart from this transfer, you will have to take a taxi (fare : around 30,00 to 35,00 € in the daytime and from 40,00 to 45,00 € at night).
